The Partnership
Clarity & Growth Session
A single conversation to get underneath the friction in your partnership,
before it turns into something harder to fix
For business parterships with friends or family
๐ค Something feels off.
You're not sure how to say it
without making it worse.
Your partnership is working. You've built something real together. But lately there's a tension you can't quite name. Decisions feel harder than they used to. Small things are landing bigger than they should. You're starting to wonder if you're actually on the same page, or if you've just been assuming you are.
That's worth a conversation. One honest conversation, before it compounds.
๐ In 90 minutes, plus two pre-session assessments, we'll map what's actually driving the dynamic between you.
Not the surface stuff. The pattern underneath it.
What I've found, working with partners over the years, is that most conflicts aren't really about the thing they appear to be about.
They're about expectations that felt so obvious nobody ever said them out loud. Different ways of thinking that nobody ever named. One person going along to get along, quietly building resentment, while the other has no idea anything is wrong.
Once you can see the pattern clearly, you know what you're actually working with.
๐ฏ This session is for you if:
You're in a professional partnership โ law, accounting, real estate, consulting โ and something between you and your partner has shifted
You're heading into a growth phase and you're sensing that what's worked so far might not hold at the next level
You're in a professional partnership โ law, accounting, real estate, consulting โ and something between you and your partner has shifted
You'd rather address what's there now than wait until it's a crisis
Who this isn't for: This isn't for partnerships that are already at each other's throats.
If you're past the point of conversation, you need a mediator.
This is for the partnership that's worth strengthening, and you both know it.
โ What you'll walk away with:
A clearer picture of the communication dynamic between you and your partner, where you're aligned and where the static is actually coming from
A way to think about the conversation you've been avoiding, and why it doesn't have to blow things up to have it
An honest sense of whether the Partner Operating System: Communication program makes sense for your situation, and what that would look like

About
I've been in a few partnerships myself. Some worked well. Some didn't. My first real business partnership fell apart because my partner had a drinking problem I didn't see coming.
Gail and I, my wife and business partner of nearly two decades, are complete opposites in style. She's direct, pragmatic, action-oriented. I'm the big ideas guy. That combination is an asset, and it's also just about guaranteed to create friction if you don't know what you're dealing with.
We hired a coach. We did the work. We built something that actually holds.
What I notice, in the partnerships I work with, is that most of them don't fail because people are bad at business. They fail because nobody ever built the communication foundation. The expectations were there. The different thinking styles were there. The unspoken assumptions were there. Nobody named any of it, so it just accumulated.
My approach is to work with each partner separately before bringing them together. Because what you actually think, what you actually want, what's actually bothering you โ that doesn't come out when your partner is sitting across the table. It comes out when you have space to say it without consequences.
I'm not here to tell you who's right. I'm not interested in that. I'm interested in helping you build something that works for both of you.
